Video 004: There are some nice phrases in this video clip. The son is walking by
the room of his mother when he can hear some noises in the room. He
rushes in to see if she is OK. His mother is being sick. He tells her
she should go and see a doctor. She says she only feels a little
queasy. He then says that the girl told him that she only ate a little
for breakfast. She replies she wasn't hungry. He then says that he will
take her to see the doctor then they will know what is wrong with her.
She says tomorrow would be better. He then asks her to promise. She
agrees. He then says that after he finishes his exams the next day he
will rush back home to take her to see the doctor. Unfortunately, that
was the last time he ever saw her alive!
โหน่ง: แม่ แม่ แม่ครับ แม่ไปหาหมอเถอะครับ
แม่: แม่แค่คลื่นไส้นิดหน่อยน่ะลูก
โหน่ง: แตงบอกว่า ตั้งแต่เช้า แม่ทานข้าวแค่นิดเดียวเอง
แม่: แม่ไม่ค่อยหิว ลูก
โหน่ง: ผมจะพาแม่ไปหาหมอนะครับ เราจะได้รู้กันว่า แม่เป็นอะไรกันแน่
แม่: เอาไว้พรุ่งนี้ละกันนะลูกนะ
โหน่ง: สัญญานะครับ
แม่: สัญญาสิลูก
โหน่ง: งั้นแม่เตรียมตัวไปหาหมอพรุ่งนี้นะครับ ผมสอบเสร็จจะรีบกลับมาพาแม่ไปหาหมอ
Some useful phrases and words:
ไปหาหมอ - go to visit the doctor
คลื่นไส้ นิดหน่อย - she says she feels only a little sick
อาเจียน to actually be sick (polite)
อ้วกto actually be sick (slang)
ตั้งแต - ever since...
ทานข้าว - this is the polite way for him to say "eat food". Normally we can say กินข้าว which is the less formal version
พา xxx ไป yyy - this is to take someone (xxx) somewhere (yyy)
สัญญา - a nice word that means "to promise"
เตรียมตัว - to prepare yourself
เตรียมอาหาร - to prepare food (for cooking)
จะ รีบ กลับมา - shall rush to return back (home)
